Now that we’ve downloaded the installation files from the Mac App Store and formatted our USB drive, let’s copy the installation files to it.

I went with Clover as it seems to be the most popular choice among other El Capitan installers, mostly for the following reasons:
Clover is an open-source EFI-based bootloader created on Apr 4, 2011. It has a totally different approach from Chameleon and Chimera. It can emulate the EFI portion present on real Macs and boot the OS from there instead of using the regular legacy BIOS approach used by Chameleon and Chimera. For many, Clover is considered the next-gen bootloader and soon it will become the only choice since BIOS in being replaced by UEFI in every new motherboard. One big feature of Clover is that iMessage, iCloud, the Mac App Store works along with Find My Mac, Back To My Mac and FileVault since Clover can use the EFI partition. Installing Clover on your USB drive is relatively easy. It involves running an installation wizard and selecting some options.
Download the latest Clover installer from here.
*Run the installer.
*Click Continue twice.
*Click Change Install Location and set it to your formatted USB drive.
*Click Customize and check the following options:

*[x] Install Clover in the ESP

Next, we’ll need to copy some kexts (kernal extensions, similar to drivers on Windows) to the USB drive.
*FakeSMC.kext - open source SMC device driver/emulator developed by netkas. Tricks OS X into thinking it’s installed on Apple hardware. Absolutely required for Hackintosh installation.
*NullCPUPowerManagement.kext - disables AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.kext which may cause kernel panics when you try to boot from the USB drive. It’s optional, copy it only if you get an AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement-related kernel panic.
*ApplePS2Controller.kext and AppleACPIPS2Nub.kext - adds support for PS2 devices (such as PS2 keyboard/mouse). They’re optional, copy them only if you still use PS2 devices.
Download these files from here and copy them to the EFI mounted volume at /EFI/Clover/kexts/10.11/.
Now that the installation USB drive is ready, let’s install OS X El Capitan!Boot from the USB Drive
Restart your computer and boot from the USB drive (Press Esc/F8/Del to access the boot selection menu).
Use the arrow keys to select Boot OS X Install from Install OS X El Capitan (It should be selected by default). Press the spacebar and select Boot Mac OS X in verbose mode. Verbose mode means that you’ll be able to see exactly what’s going on under the hood as OS X attempts to boot up its installer. You’ll be able to see the exact error message if booting fails.
Press Enter and cross your fingers. Clover will now boot the installer from your USB drive. This could take some time, in my case, it takes around 5 minutes (Don’t worry -- the startup time is around 5 seconds after installing on an SSD).Hackintosh El Capitan DownloadDid it fail?
It’s more than likely that the boot will fail. Don’t panic (ha-ha), as kernel panics usually mean that you forgot to copy an essential kext to the EFI partition. Look up the exact error you’re getting before the boot log comes to an end and search Google for a solution.
Once you find an additional kext that your system needs, you’d attempt to copy it to the EFI volume, only to discover that it’s gone! Not to worry, it’s just unmounted and hidden. Follow this guide to mount the hidden partition, and then, follow the Copy Essential Kexts section above to copy it to the USB drive’s EFI partition.Format the Target Hard Drive
Once the installation wizard boots, the next step is to prepare the hard drive that you want to install OS X on.
Click Continue, followed by Disk Utility.
Select the target drive to install to (not the USB drive!) and click the Erase button. Make sure to back up anything important on that drive, as it will be deleted forever.
*Set the Name to El Capitan.
*Set the Format to OS X Extended (Journaled).
*Set the Scheme to GUID Partition Map.
Click Erase to format the drive.Install OS X to the Target Drive
Exit the Disk Utility and click Install OS X.
Click Show All Disks and select the drive you just formatted to install OS X on it. Finally, click Install.
The process takes about 25 minutes. Be patient. For me, it hung at the end (’1 second remaining’) for around 5 minutes. Don’t be tempted to reset or cancel the installation.
When that’s done, the system will reboot. Make sure to boot from the USB device again, and select Boot OS X Install from Install OS X El Capitan once again, in verbose mode. The installation is a two-part process that continues once you re-boot into the USB drive.
Finally, after about 25 more minutes, OS X El Capitan should be successfully installed on the target drive.Boot into El Capitan via the USB Device
After the second reboot, boot from the USB device once again, but this time, select Boot OS X from El Capitan, and select verbose mode.
Press Enter and cross your fingers again. If all goes well, you’ll be presented with the setup wizard:
Take a minute to set up your new Hackintosh. Once you’re done, there are a few things you need to do to finish off the installation.Reinstall Clover on the Hackintosh Drive
In the previous step, we used Clover on our USB drive to boot our Hackintosh. This is fine, but most of us aren’t going to keep that USB drive plugged in forever. Let’s make it possible to boot El Capitan independently by reinstalling Clover on it.
Go back up to the Install Clover on Your USB Drive section and follow the steps again, but this time, select your El Capitan volume instead of the USB drive.
Once again, copy the essential kexts to the EFI partition that shows up after installing Clover.
Finally, make sure to add Clover EFI boot options which is possible by pressing Clover Boot Options in the Clover boot window (if there are 2 boot options -- find the one for your SATA drive). I literally spent 3 hours figuring out why Clover would not boot when I disconnected the USB drive before I figured out that I need to manually add the EFI boot options.
Now you’ll be able to boot directly from the El Capitan hard drive, as it should be!Audio and Networking

Hey guys, Here is a guide on ’How to install OS X 10.9 on a PC with a Gigabyte 990FXA Series Motherboard and AMD FX Series CPU’.
It will also show you how to dual boot windows and OS X and even run the same windows install inside of OS X with VMWare Fusion.
Before we start, Here is the exact specification i am using for my Hackintosh install.
*Motherboard: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3
*CPU: AMD FX-6100
*Memory: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600Mhz (2x4gb)
*Graphics Card: Sapphire AMD Radeon HD 7850 2GB OC Edition (1002 6819)
*Operating Systems: Windows 8 and OS X 10.9.1
Ok so although this guide is intended for install on the above hardware it may or may not work on other hardware, It will most likely work on the UD3, UD5 and UD7 motherboards aswell as most modern Radeon HD Graphics.Requirements
The following items will be required in order for this to work.
*Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 (DVD or USB)
*Niresh 10.9 (Torrent: http://www.niresh12495.com [it’s the most downloaded file currently])
*A USB Pen (Niresh - 10.9 - Mavericks USB Version.zip) or Dual Layer DVD+R (Niresh - 10.9 - Mavericks ISO Version.zip)
*Access to both Windows and the Niresh Mavericks USB at the same time.
*You need to take your time and be patient. Both windows and OS X take some time to install.
*1 HDD that is able to be completely formatted (wipe partition table)
Note: you don’t need Windows if you don’t want to dual bootPreparation
I am not going to cover how to write the DMG file to a USB pen or DVD and instead will just link you to http://www.macbreaker.com/2014/01/instal..iresh.html (Step 1a if your currently in OS X and 1b if your in Windows)
So once you have the Bootable USB/DVD with Niresh on it we are ready to begin.
We need to format the HDD with the partition type MBR (for some reason when i did this with windows it didn’t work) to do this will shall boot to the Niresh USB/DVD and at the prompt highlight ’Niresh Mavericks’ and simply type ’amdfx GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1 -v’ and press ’Enter’.
If you don’t plan on dual booting you can skip to ’Installing OS X 10.9’.
After a short time it should start booting to the OS X installer, Select your language and then in the menu bar Select Utilities > Disk Utilities > Select the HDD you want to use > Partition > 2 Partitions and then set the 1st as MS-DOS (FAT) name it ’Windows’ and the 2nd as ’Mac OS Extended (Journaled)’ name it ’Mavericks’ now select ’Options’ and make sure it’s set to ’MBR (Master Boot Record)’ then press ’Apply’
OK now the HDD is properly partitioned, We now move on to installing Windows.Installing Windows 7, 8 or 8.1
This is installed just like normal, Except you need to make sure it doesn’t install the UEFI version (make sure to select the non UEFI DVD/USB entry from the boot menu)
Once your at the install simply do a ’Custom Install’ and then install windows to the 1st Partition it will need to be formated to NTFS via the format button below prior to being installed.
After the install is complete go through the standard welcome screen and post install setup and then we can move on to installing Niresh’s OS X 10.9Installing Niresh OS X 10.9
And now we are on to the main event, Installing OS X.
Boot to the Niresh USB/DVD and then at the prompt highlight ’Niresh Mavericks’ and simply type ’amdfx GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1 -v’ and press ’Enter’
Now you should be back at the OS X install screen, This time we will actually install it, Follow the on screen wizard until you get to the HDD Select page then select the ’Mavericks’ disk but DO NOT PRESS NEXT/INSTALL instead press ’Customize’ and uncheck the option ’GraphicsEnabler’ located under the ’Graphics’ section.
Now you can begin the install. Press the install button and prepare to wait a while depending on your SSD/HDD.Fixing A Few Issues With OS X
Ok now we have OS X and Windows installed but most likely booting OS X from the HDD won’t work and instead you will need to use the USB/DVD.
October 18th, 2015books. So once again boot to the Niresh USB/DVD but then at the prompt highlight ’Mavericks’ instead of ’Niresh Mavericks’ enter ’ ’Kernel Cache’=amd GraphicsEnabler=No PCIRootUID=1 -v ’ note the quotes need to be entered around the words ’Kernel Cache’.
After a little while it should boot to OS X and ask you to enter various information for the welcome screen, After you have entered this you should be at either the ’Login Screen’ or the ’Desktop’.
If your using the exact same card as mine you most likely are not running at native resolution and are instead forced to 1024x768, To fix this we need to modify 2 kext files, if your running at native resolution skip the step below.
Load up a Terminal (Search > Terminal) and then type ’sudo su’ and enter admin password, Now type ’nano /System/Library/Extensions/AMD7000Controller.kext/Contents/Info.plist’ and then find ’68181002’ and change it to your device and vendor ID (mine is 68191002) once done press ’Ctrl or Win + X’ and then repeat the same change for ’/System/Library/Extensions/AMDRadeonX4000.kext/Contents/Info.plist’.
Now the graphics is sorted provided your using a similar card to mine atleast, Now we can sort out issues with the bootloader on the HDD, Download ’Chameleon Wizard’ then run it and select ’Boot0HFS’ as the install mode and then press ’Install’.
Now reboot and you should be able to boot from the HDD and select the ’Mavericks’ option, you may need to enter ’GraphicsEnabler=No’ and ’-v’ is useful to see more detailed/verbose information.
Congratulations you are done sorting out OS X, The steps below are optional but highly recommended.Updating the AMD Kernel and OS X
So you successfully got OS X working on your system, Now we should update OS X to the latest version (10.9.1 as of the time i was writing this) and the AMD Kernel to a newer and faster version.Niresh Mavericks Dmg Free
Download the following file http://www.osx86.net/files/download/3736..4-support/ and extract it.
Next select ’Go’ on the menu bar, and then ’Go to folder’ and then ’/’, This will put you to the root of the OS X Partition, Now we need to replace the mach_kernel with the download mach_kernel file. Simply copy and paste and confirm the authentication.
Now we need to copy the downloaded ’System.kext’ to ’/System/Library/Extensions/’, once this is done you will most likely get some errors don’t panic!.
Now we load ’Kext Wizard’ (installed with niresh) and select ’Repair’ and ’Rebuild’ under the ’/System/Library/Extensions/’.
Once ’Kext Wizard’ is done, Click the ’Apple icon’ in the ’Menu Bar’ and select ’Software Update’ and ’Update All’, This will take a little while, When asked to reboot say yes.
Now your system should reboot and you should be back at OS X at 10.9.1 instead of 10.9.0.Running Windows 8 Inside OS X Using VMWare Fusion
Ok so, So far we have Windows and OS X installed to the same HDD on your PC, Now we will use the physical install of Windows inside of VMWare Fusion this will allow us to use Windows both inside of OS X and as a actual boot option.
Of Course this requires VMWare Fusion and this is a commercial piece of software therefore you will need to acquire VMWare Fusion prior to continuing.
Ok so now that you have acquired VMWare Fusion and installed it we can continue on to setting up the ’boot camp’ partition.Niresh Mavericks Dmg Google Drive
Firstly we need to make sure that the windows partition is set to be the active partition, to do this we can load ’Terminal’ > ’sudo su’ > ’fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0’ > ’f 1’ > ’write’ > ’y’ > ’exit’.
Ok now it should have set the windows partition as the active partition, Now load up ’VMWare Fusion’ and select ’More Options’ and then ’Install from bootcamp’ and then ’Create bootcamp virtual machine’.
Now the VM should be created and you should be able to simply start the VM and Windows 7, 8 or 8.1 should start and start the vmware tools install procedure. Now exit the VM and VMWare.Niresh Mavericks Dmg Free
Now we need to restore the active partition back to OS X by doing the following load ’Terminal’ > ’sudo su’ > ’fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0’ > ’f 2’ > ’write’ > ’y’ > ’exit’.Niresh Mavericks Dmg File
And now we are done! click the ’unity’ button in VMWare to integrate it even more. We now have VMWare with Windows + Windows as Dual Boot with OS X.Extras

Running Soul Reaver on Windows XP
Installation Process:
1. Insert the Soul Reaver CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive and install the game normally.
2. Once the game is installed, upgrade it with the Official Soul Reaver version 1.2 patch.
3. Unzip the Unofficial Soul Reaver patch into your Soul Reaver installation folder (generally c:Program FilesEidos InteractiveSoul Reaver, unless you chose to put it somewhere else during the install). When Windows asks if you want to overwrite kain2.exe, choose Yes.
4. In the installation folder, right-click on the new Kain2.exe icon and choose Send To, then Desktop (create shortcut).
5. Find the Shortcut to kain2.exe icon on your desktop. Right-click on it and choose Properties. In the Properties window, rename it to Soul Reaver XP (or the other name of your choice). Then click on the Compatibility tab, and select the Run this program in compatibility mode for: checkbox. In the drop-down list, select Windows 98 / Me. Then click OK.
6. If you are running Windows 2000 and do not have a Compatibility tab, go to your Start menu and select Run. Enter this in the text box: regsvr32 %systemroot%apppatchslayerui.dll then press Enter. If you are running an un-service-packed version of Windows 2000, this may not work.
7. If you wish, copy the new shortcut to your Start Menu.
8. Double-click the Soul Reaver XP icon, and play normally.
Notes:
* If the game has issues with the sound, or running slowly, make sure that Compatibility Mode (98 / Me) is turned on in the properties for the Soul Reaver XP shortcut.
* If the FMVs don’t play, and/or Raziel runs around in circles, you probably have a gamepad with analogue sticks connected to your PC. This game interprets one of the sticks as a throttle. You can either disconnect the gamepad and play with the keyboard, or use a utility like JoyToKey to make Soul Reaver think your gamepad is the keyboard.
* The main menu runs a bit slowly if you turn the resolution way up, but the rest of the game should play just fine.
* If you have a graphics card with an Nvidia chip, you may experience problems if you use Nvidia’s drivers after version 61.77. On Windows Vista, the built-in drivers allow the game to be played, but NVidia’s Forceware drivers may not.

Watch the best Sexuality films on Short of the Week—review and discuss the new generation of innovative stories that are shaping the world. In Memoriam Michael Apted, 1941-2021. The British director helmed the long-running documentary film series Up, along with the acclaimed films Coal Miner’s Daughter and Gorillas in the Mist (pictured). He also helmed the Bronson-era Bond film The World is Not Enough, the Jennifer Lopez revenge thriller Enough, and the Jodie Foster drama Nell.
But at their best, docs about filmmakers and filmmaking can become invaluable historical documents that contextualize and explain just how, exactly, the flicks we love (or love to hate) get to be that way—or in some cases, don’t get made at all.
Done right, behind-the-scenes docs can become as indispensible, iconic and canonical as the films whose (inevitably rocky) birth they help immortalize—full of high stakes, ticking clocks and outsized characters with fragile egos and hair-trigger tempers. Just think: all the building blocks of great drama are already sitting there right behind the camera, waiting to be captured.
BTS features are a core part of any dedicated film fan’s diet. Luckily, the genre only gets more and more robust with each passing year, as Hollywood’s veil of secrecy and image-management continues to erode in the face of our new media economy.
So whether driven by schadenfreude, geek fandom or pure academic interest, the fine art of pointing a camera under Hollywood’s kimono is here to stay.
This week on The Must-Listwe asked our Film Independent staffers to grab a bucket of gluten-free popcorn and recommend five behind-the-scenes docs that lay bare the glorious, insane process of putting entertainment up on the big screen.
Lost in La Mancha (2003, dir. Keith Fulton & Louis Pepe)
Lost In La Mancha follows Director Terry Gilliam as he tries to get his film The Man Who Killed Don Quixote through pre-production. Although it sets out to be an epic $32 million project starring Johnny Depp as Sancho Panza, the project quickly descends into chaos with flash floods, an ailing Quixote and an outdoor filming location that turns out to be next to a NATO bombing range. Through it all Gilliam struggles onward as things fall apart around him and the film’s investors begin to pull out. Although Gilliam’s painful process of trying to get a film off the ground resulted in the demise of his own project, a great film did still rise from the ashes in the form of Lost in La Mancha. And—an interesting Film Independent fact—the team behind Lost in La Mancha, Keith Fulton and Lou Pepe, are still working together. Their newest documentary project The Bad Kids was selected to participate in Film Independent’s Fast Track program in 2015, and premiered at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival in the Documentary Competition.

Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s The Island of Dr. Moreau (2014, dir. David Gregory)
No other entry in this odd microgenre comes close to matching the pig-faced glory of David Gregory’s lengthily-titled Netflix juggernaut, Lost Soul: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s The Island of Dr. Moreau, which traces the trajectory of the ill-fated 1996 H.G. Wells adaptation from ambitious genre fare to much-derided bad-movie boondoggle. Everyone involved with Moreau still seems in shock at just how badly this venture went off the rails—none more than original director Richard Stanley, who was bullied off the project into backwoods bathtub exile (for real). In interviews, Stanley still seems traumatized by the ordeal: a broken Brit in a stupid hat consigned to a French shack full of occult baubles, recalling with black humor the time he almost got to direct the movie of his dreams before the twin tornados of Marlon Brando and Val Kilmer swept in and ruined his life. It’s fascinating, funny stuff, and as instructive about the entropic forces working against art as any piece of storytelling I can recall.

Becoming Bulletproof (2014, dir. Michael Barnett)
Jeremy is 28 years old and has Williams Syndrome. A.J. is from Atlanta and Judi is a receptionist from Connecticut—both have cerebral palsy. Together, the three of them—along with several of their peers, all suffering from similar physical health conditions—have made their dream of appearing on the big screen a reality by acting in an innovative western called Bulletproof. Becoming Bulletproof follows their often-arduous (but consistently joyful) journey to create the film, produced in collaboration with a non-profit called Zeno Mountain Farm. The behind-the-scenes drama is captured by documentarian Michael Barnett’s camera. This insightful, inspirational doc proves that making any movie is difficult, but Barnett gracefully puts these everyday challenges into perspective.

Hearts of Darkness (1991, dir. Eleanor Coppola, George Hickenlooper & Fax Bahr)
Arguably the granddaddy of all behind-the-scenes documentaries, no list of this sort would be complete without Hearts of Darkness, compiled from hundreds of hours of home movies shot during the production of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now—one of the most famously difficult film shoots in Hollywood history. The film is full of amazingly candid footage which elucidates each and every disaster to befall Now’s production, from early casting troubles, to star Martin Sheen’s heart attack, to biblical monsoons which destroyed both locations and equipment. But perhaps the biggest struggle faced by Coppola and his crew was wrangling the performance of Marlon Brando (making his second appearance on this list), who showed up to the film grossly overweight and unprepared. Coppola famously said of Apocalypse Now, “My film isn’t about Vietnam, it is Vietnam,” and while the veracity of that statement is debatable, it’s not difficult to see why he thought so after witnessing the horror (the horror…) of Hearts of Darkness. Jodorowsky’s Dune (2013, dir. Frank Pavich)
Sometimes the best movies are the ones that exist only in the mind. That seems to be the thesis of Frank Pavich’s ultra-watchable 2013 doc Jodorowsky’s Dune, which chronicles the frenzied (coke-fueled?) idea-a-minute brainstorming phase of cult director Alejandro Jodorowsky’s ill-fated 1970s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s famously unwieldy sci-fi classic. Ultimately Jodorowsky’s film was a non-starter, full of eccentric dream casting (Orson Welles! Salvador Dali!) and grotesque fantasy imagery. But it sure made for one hell of a proof-of-concept book, which Pavich excerpts from liberally, goosing the still images with motion graphics to create a tantalizing glimpse of what could have been. Once the project inevitably fell apart, the creative team dispersed and took their ideas to films such as Alien and The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension. Would Jodorowsky’s film have actually been as good as the film seems to insist? Who knows?! But that’s not really the point. The point is: even failed ideas ripple out. (Matt Warren)
There you go. Have fun loading up that Netflix queue, and don’t be discouraged if these documentaries make filmmaking look like the traumatic ordeal it—let’s be honest—so frequently is. The message here is that art is worth it… sometimes.

Stencil graffiti is a form of graffiti that makes use of stencils made out of paper, cardboard, or other media to create an image or text that is easily reproducible. The desired design is cut out of the selected medium and then the image is transferred to a surface through the use of spray paint or roll-on paint.
The process of stencilling involves applying paint across a stencil to form an image on a surface below. Sometimes multiple layers of stencils are used on the same image to add colours or create the illusion of depth. 19third grade james tes.

Australian photographer Rennie Ellis documented some of the earliest examples of stencil art to appear in Sydney and Melbourne in his 1985 book The All New Australian Graffiti. In the introduction to the book, Ellis noted that US photographer Charles Gatewood had written to him and sent him photographs of similar stencil graffiti that had recently appeared in New York City, leading Ellis to speculate that:
.. unlike our subway-style graffiti, which is nothing more than a copy of a well-established New York tradition, the symbols of Australia and America had originated separately and unknown to each other.[1]
Over the years this form of graffiti has become a worldwide subculture. The members are linked through the Internet and the images spray-painted on the urban canvas they place throughout the world. Many of its members connect through blogs and websites that are specifically built to display works, get feedback on posted works, and receive news of what is going on in the world of stencil graffiti.
Stencil graffiti is illegal in some jurisdictions, and many of the members of this subculture shroud their identities in aliases.
